KUSI - Walk for Homeless Youth

Thank you to all who came out for the March to save Homeless Youth Saturday Morning.
Jake was on KUSI and Good Shepherd Church and its youth were mentioned twice and again Jake talked about our youth on stage!

(Lady Pat) I would like to thank all the youth that got up so EARLY to do this – as the event got started about 9:10, many had been there waiting since 7:15am in the rain!!
We made a difference!! Our team was officially 24 youth and parents! We raised $552 for the storefront shelter. ($432 in registration and $120 in donations)

We met some of the youth that were assisted by the shelter, one that we saw on the video, explained how he was a sophomore in HS when he was living under the PB pier until the shelter helped him.
We saw how ‘Photocharity’ had 4 autographed guitars up for auction (that will probably raise more than half a million dollars) and how one of our youth won a $5000 gift certificate for a photography session at the raffle!

It was a fun morning, and also a morning of sacrifice. All our youth were touched by the stories and really could appreciate their own homes of stability and love. Not everyone has that….we are thankful to GOD for what we have and thankful for the discipleship of Good Shepherd Youth that are so willing to help! Wet weather and early hours…. in the end everyone was a winner!
